Meet the Guild

The Guild of Carillonneurs ring twice a day, once at 12.30pm - 1pm and once at 5pm - 6pm. Occasionally, we present weekend afternoon concerts by students or guest performers.

Elliot H. Kone BR '49

Founder, Guild of Yale Bellringers


A veteran of World War II, Kone volunteered to play the bells of the Yale Memorial Chimes after University Curator of Organs Steven H. Smith retired in 1946, and was finally accepted after repeated appeals. With A. Brooks Naffziger '50 they founded the Guild in September 1948.
