Robin Austin

R. Robin Austin was appointed Princeton University’s carillonneur in 1993.

He began his carillon studies in 1979 with Frank Péchin Law, former carillonneur of the Washington Memorial National Carillon (Valley Forge). Robin passed his advancement examination recital for the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America (GCNA) in 1981 and continued his studies with Jacques Lannoy at L’Ecole Français de Carillon, earning the carillonneur’s diploma in 1982. Other carillon mentors have included Ronald Barnes and Frank Della Penna.

Robin Austin is a graduate of West Chester University (B.A.) and Bryn Mawr College (M.S.S.). He resides in center city Philadelphia and is director of planned giving at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. He also finds time to study the piano with Charles Engel at Settlement Music School.
