As an interdisciplinary center and major arts presenter in New Haven, the Institute offers a full schedule of concerts (some featuring Yale faculty and guest performers), drama, art exhibitions, films, literary readings, lectures, and multi-media events during the year. In 2008-2009, the Institute sponsored seventy-eight events open to the public (including forty-six student recitals), which were attended by an estimated 19,000 people.
