Computer Support Center (CSC)

Services

No appointment is necessary to drop off a device for service. Services include:

  • Walk-in support for students. Your Yale affiliation helps determine the right person to help you with technology, please visit getting technology help at Yale for further information on support.
  • Walk-in center for PTAEO billable clients with Yale laptops, etc.
  • Secure wiping (de-gaussing)of data from old hard drives and shredding of optical media (CD,DVD).
  • Kiosk computers for self service.
  • Assistance with online hardware ordering.
  • Questions about NetID activations & password changes.

The turn-around time for most work is five business days; however, complex requests and possible heavy technical work volume at the CSC, may require additional time.

Notice regarding changes in charging:

Beginning July 1st, 2011, the Computing Support Center will no longer be accepting credit card and personal checks as payment for repair of computers personally owned by faculty and staff.

We will continue to repair and support departmental and University-owned machines payable by PTAEO only.

Students will continue to receive support for their personal computers, with no charges for labor.
