New Faculty Appointments

Robert Frank

Yale Linguistics is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Frank as Professor of Linguistics, commencing in Fall 2008. Robert's research interests include syntax, grammatical theory, and computational studies of language acquisition and processing. Robert is the author of Phrase Structure Composition and Syntactic Dependencies (MIT Press).

Raffaella Zanuttini

Yale Linguistics is pleased to announce the appointment of Raffaella Zanuttini as Professor of Linguistics, commencing in Fall 2008. Raffaella's research interests focus on syntax: sentential negation, clause type and agreement in Romance, Appalachian English and other languages. Raffaella is the author of Negation and Clausal Structure: A Comparative Study of Romance Languages (OUP).

Claire Bowern

Yale Linguistics is pleased to announce the appointment of Claire Bowern as Assistant Professor of Linguistics, commencing in Fall 2008. Claire's research interests focus on Australian languages: the historical morpho-syntax of Nyulnyulan languages, language contact and reconstruction in Pama-Nyungan "border" areas, and methodological and modelling questions of language history and reconstruction. Claire is the author of Linguistic Fieldwork: A Practical Guide (Palgrave).
