QuickMail

Read It, and File It or Delete It

All mail items in your "Mailbox" or "Mail Log" actually physically remains on the QuickMail server. Until an item is either "FILE"d or "DELETE"d, it stays on the server. Not only does this use the server's disk space, it also slows down your QuickMail session significantly. This is because the QuickMail client has to go to the server for information about each and every piece of mail every time you open your QuickMail `window'.

Furthermore, in the event of a problem with the server, there is no way to retrieve or replace individual mail items. You risk losing your mail. So when you receive a new piece of mail, look at it and either "FILE" it on your hard disk or "DELETE" it, do not leave it in your "Mailbox". Similarly, if you wish to keep a copy of a memo you sent out, "FILE" it rather then leaving it in your "Mail Log".

Thanks again for your help and cooperation, and remember to keep checking your "Public" bulletin board from time to time for new announcements.
