Curriculum Units & Guides to the Units
Each teacher participating as a Fellow in an Institute seminar prepares a curriculum unit to be taught in the following year. These units are intended primarily for use by Fellows and their colleagues who teach in the New Haven Public Schools, but they also provide concrete examples of ways in which teachers have drawn material from Institute seminars for use in their own school courses.
Guides to the curriculum units prepared each year consist of synopses written by their authors and contain recommendations of the school courses and grade levels where the units may best apply.
Images that appear in the original printed units are, in most cases, not here online. To obtain a photocopy of a specific portion of a printed unit, please email a detailed request through this Web site's guest book. Manuscripts and Archives, Yale University Library, fills such requests for a nominal charge in the order they are received.
Index
A topical index of all the units written since 1978 lists them according to the three or four main topics each unit addresses.
Reference Lists
These annotated Lists were compiled by New Haven teachers, for New Haven teachers. They correlate Institute-developed curriculum units with subjects and curriculum standards for various grade levels in New Haven's public schools.
